Hello

I’m Dr. Lesya (Lisa) Bindas, and I believe mental health care should be more than symptom management—it should be a journey to thriving. At Life in Balance (LB) Psychiatry, I combine modern medicine with holistic, functional strategies to address mood disorders, anxiety, and more, meeting you where you’re at.

About Me

My journey into mental health was unexpected but quickly became my passion. It began in 2012 when I worked with a young patient with Autism Spectrum Disorder and severe self-harm behaviors. Instead of shying away, I was drawn to this challenging work, sparking a desire to learn more about psychiatric conditions and how best to support those affected. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience at institutions like Swedish, Harborview, Multicare, Fairfax, and Greater Lakes, growing from a home-care aide to a doctoral-trained psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse patients, from pediatrics to oncology and perinatal care. Each experience has reinforced my belief that mental health is a journey, not a destination. Whether managing mild anxiety or severe mental illness, I believe there is always hope and a path forward. My holistic approach considers all aspects of a patient’s life, from diet and environment to relationships and spiritual well-being. I’m committed to helping my patients focus on their goals, guiding them toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

A bit about me: I live in Washington State and am engaged to a kind and loving man. I’m passionate about entrepreneurship, especially real estate, and my Christian faith is central to my life. I maintain my wellness through daily exercise, whether hiking or going to the gym. The support of my friends and family is invaluable to me and plays a key role in my mental health and well-being.
